I'm not at all sure that the title is the right one for what I have in mind, but here goes anyway ...
I really enjoyed Ken Follett's Century Trilogy in the way it stitched together so many crucial events through the twentieth century, and I'm about to start on book 5 of Jeffery Archer's Clifton Chronicles. Sort of similar in style/scope, albeit not so well-written in my opinion. Is there any accepted name for this genre, and more importantly what other examples are there out there ?
