Sounds like a few people decided to ruin their auction it could be a variety of people eg pissed of ex staff or ex suppliers owed a lot of money (and getting nothing back regardless of this sale).MartG said:

Anyone relying on a fax vote in 2015 is living in the dark ages.
A meeting of the rule-making strategy group agreed last November to allow both Marussia and their back-of-the-grid rivals Caterham to use their 2014 cars in 2015 if it would help them race.
But the issue would still require a fax vote of the FIA World Council, the sport's legislative body. This would be considered a formality should Marussia be able to put a deal together.

He already has a contract with Ferrari for engines for next year so wont be too difficult to get a years supply for this transition year.
If Max Chilton's cheque book is still fully functioning we might have an extra Brit on the grid this year.
