How boring, they cannot be serious, there must be a workable alternative

Why does it take so long to recover a 700Kg car,

Because they are crap at it and use the wrong equipment, and the cars are only lifted from one point, the main roll over structure

If they had two lifting points and a suitable truck mounted crane, they could drive up to it and lift it in a fraction of the time

Marshals are not 'crap at it'
The ones in China were a joke

The circuit has to be controlled by flags at a minimum if any recovery is ongoing

Still need marshals on track to hook up
Twice as many hook ups to make
The car will still need stabilising and guiding onto flatbed
Truck mounted crane wouldn't be able to cope with gravel
FFS it 2015, things can be recovered from 2 mile's deep in the oceans
.

I'm really curious to know which technology from deep sea recovery you think could have been applied in China to prevent the race from finishing behind a safety car?
Flood the circuit?
The tractor, flatbed truck, and Hiab date back to the second world war, to suggest that something purpose designed and built would not be more suitable in the 21st century is ridiculous,
