I just had a cursory chance at the standings to see if first place in this championship would still be up in the air if we had double points at Abu Dhabi hehe

As it happens, it wouldn't. However, the battle for 2nd / 3rd at least would still be going, and a lot more besides!

Come back souble points, all is forgiven whistle

Vettel will beat Raikkonen tomorrow.
Most weekends I'd agree with you but there's no alcohol in Abu Dhabi and Kimi without a hangover goes pretty well at this circuit.

People are wrong sometimes, no need to be a dick about it.

Indeed, I suppose it is no surprise though, I have been watching F since 1977, and have been to 37 F1 races. It has never been as dull as now, and live, current F1 cars are pathetic, and I will bot be spending the £500 minimum that it costs to do a GP weekend until there are impressive F1 cars again..........
I disagree, I find them hugely impressive and hope to see them live again next year. The racing generally entertains me and I look forward to seeing how the current formula will evolve.

Did they change tyres again on Bottas then when they changed the wing?
Why wouldn't they?

Verstappin is really good, isn't he?
yes rookie of the year, certainly. A great future in the sport ahead of him too. Multiple WDC in my opinion.

I'm normally a good sport but I've got fingers crossed for a Rosberg DNF now.

I'm annoyed. 9 pages of discussion by race end.

The Arabs can launch as many fireworks as they like, it won't disguise the fact the championship ended with a fizzle rather than a bang.

Wow, so Lewis chose to use the SS. Seems a bit out of character confused
No, he chose the soft according to Toto. Can't help feeling there's more to it than that though.

This race was won before the first turn. Mercedes then neutered Hamilton. Not a good note to end the season on.

I have a new found respect for this Lewis mk2 (or is he mk3 now?)- able to make his point without getting flustered, constantly aware of strategies, able to have measured conversations over the radio at 200mph... To think that at the beginning of 2014 I was hoping Rosberg would beat Hamilton.

Yep Rosberg has had the measure of Hamilton for the last few races of this season, and had the pace advantage again in Abu Dhabi. He probably would've won even if Mercedes hadn't knobbled Hamilton. That's the worst thing- it should've been a race between Rosberg and Hamilton and it wasn't. It was contrived. I can't imagine either of the drivers want the result to be determined that way.

My understanding is that Lewis turned his engine up without permission in an effort to close the gap to Nico and after Lewis failed to turn it back down again Mercedes permitted Rosberg to turn his engine up to neutralise it.
