Beaky Sims autobiography in the works....
Discussion
Lads, I've been tasked of writing Dave 'Beaky' Sims autobiography. Beaky is a bit of a legend in the pitlane, having started in motorsport working on the Lotus Cortinas for Team Lotus back in 1966. He then progressed up to F2 (he was Jim Clark's mechanic) and then on to F1 where he was Graham Hill's, Mario Andretti's, Jochen Rindt's and Emerson Fittipaldi's mechanic....and we're only up to 1971! We don't have a website as yet, it's currently being worked on, but I have just set up a Facebook page, if any of you would like to join the group & receive all the updates, it's here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/819809261484648/
LOL---I'm hoping so, too!
In the meantime, here's a link to a little video I did with Beaky and Bob Dance a couple of years ago that you may enjoy:

hi Dave, thanks for your note, apologies for not replying sooner...the other week I spent 6 days with Beaky in Houston and Austin at COTA for the Weather Tech Championship race (a disappointing finish of 8th when they were leading with only 20 minutes to go...still they made up for it at Road Atlanta last week with a win) spent a whole day going over what I have already written and chatting about details for the book, researching photo's etc. I'm hoping the book will be published by this time next year. I will certainly pass your best wishes to Beaky when I speak to him later this week.
just to let you all know, we have just gone 'live' with a dedicated website for the book, nip over to www.beakysims.com and take a look. All the best!
