Milan to Monza

Hi all, I have flights, accommodation and race tickets sorted for a trip to Monza F1 over the August bank holiday. On previous trips to overseas races we’ve used a car to get to/from the circuit and also used public transport.
Each has their own pros/cons, but I was wondering if your experiences of this race might help me decide the best option.
We’ve spent 2hrs getting out of a car park in Silverstone and Spa previously, but managed to use taxis and public transport seamlessly in Sepang a few years ago.
I know that Monza has a public transport option but I’m unsure on how well the system and capacity copes.
Anyone have any feedback from their own trips?

On this subject, I'm thinking of taking my dad to Monza in 2025 for his 70th birthday. I've never been to an F1 event before, when would I need to look at booking flights/tickets/hotels?
