"Ian Henderson of Llanberis Mountain Rescue said the emergency services or national park officers would never attempt to drive up Snowdon."

Forgive me, but it looks like the train track itself isn't unreasonably steep. I know it's a rack and pinion railway but a modernish 4x4 driven by someone that knows what they're doing should find it achievable, surely?

Oh, and who was, it, own up... hehe

Why the outcry? I don't understand (and this is from an 'idiot' standpoint, not argumentative) why it would be an offence? Surely it's just the same as driving accross common-ground, but this one has a mountain in it?
Judging by the video, the only people complaining were the stereotypical sour-faced ramblers. Everyone else just walked around it as if it was natural that a car would be parked right next to a train track. I did like how their whinging about how seeing a car has ruined their day had to stop to let a train rumble past.
Why the hell would you walk up a hill that has a train to the top anyway?

I can understand why you'd walk to the top of a mountain. But if there's a train, take the train.

Just heard this on the Radio... aparently the only reason why the Frontera is still there is that was where he was ordered to leave it.

His plan to to go up and down in the night and noone would know.

Alas it took a little longer than he anticipated and the 1st train up in the morning (07:00ish) saw him and ordered him to stop and leave the car there otherwise he would have been down and away before many people were there.

But now look at it, everyone knows what he did (and that's it's possible to do) so the non story has been blown out of all proportion imo.
In his position, if the train told me to stay there I'd have totally ignored the suggestion.

And I'd have taken the numberplates off.

35 quid for killing a cyclist, 22 months for driving not quite all the way up a hill. Something not quite right there.
