RE: Audi R8 turned into a stretched limo
Wednesday 25th January 2012
If ever there were a vehicle that it would be inappropriate to turn into a stretch limo, you'd think that a mid-engined supercar would be it. And yet that's what Brit company Carbonyte is doing - it's been commissioned to turn an R8 V10 into a multi-bucket seated limousine.
Audi R8 turned into a stretched limo
Mid-engined V10 supercar? Perfect starting point for a limousine, we say...
So far, so weird. But it gets weirder. Carbonyte has in the past helped with such honourable projects as chassis development for the McMerc SLR. Recently, however, it's turned its attention to automotive curios such as a giant Red Bull can created from a Smart ForTwo and a stretched Ferrari 360 Modena.
This latest project is for the same people who own the 360 limo and will feature individual gullwing doors for each of the passenger seats. Hmmm...
Carbonyte says it hopes to have the car built by the summer. We're not entirely sure what Audi thinks of it all... in the meantime have a little look at the rendered video below... crikey...
