The local bargain game
Discussion
OK - Friday afternoon fun.
I started this a couple of years back. As all the links/pics will be long since dead, I'll treatmyself us all to a new thread.
The scenario: You need to buy a car to get to work. Urgently. You've only got a grand and you're going to have to view and collect it by BUS
Yep; times are hard
Here's how to play:
- Go to Autotrader
- click 'more options'
- Put your postcode in
- set maximum price to 'up to £1,000'
- set Distance to - within 10 miles
Then, from the results, choose and post the ONE 'local bargain' of your choice, i.e. the one you'd choose to get you to work each day.
(extra points for having cash left over fortax, insurance, fuel etc. coke and hookers!)
Here's mine to start:
I had 42 cars to choose from
A bargain £750

I see some posts are showing the postcode of the ph member in the distance from...... Part of autotrader. Assuming they haven't used false postcodes, they might want to get rid of that bit
Thank you, deletedYou can always edit the AT link if you're particularly paranoid, all you need to link to an ad is the following part of the URL:

Bloody well done, mate! That's a stonking bargain. I'd have expected another 100k on the clock to drag it down to that price. It's not even up in the rainy, rusty North, either.

I just called hoping it had sold, as the last thing I need is another car. Sold last night. Now I'm upset.
Is that next week's immaculate, low mileage, one careful owner car I can see being prepped to the right of the background? FH from Merc Edgware rd london, only covered 9k since 1994. e/leather seats,e/s/r, alloys, mot july 12. 29 years old vgc priced to sell. £595
