I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but Fiat have released the new 500L, it's basically a 500 with 5 doors:

Given the release of the new Panda, I can't think why they'd bother, it'll take sales away from the new Panda surely?

I know they're aiming at the Mini, but the Clubman is awful, and the Countryman is a school run mum pseudo-4x4. The 500L is not a pseudo-4x4, but it is awful I guess. I just thought that if the average buyer wanted a 5 door, 5 seater 500, they'd just go for the Panda. The 500 will obviously be more expensive as well seeing as it's what Fiat probably class as premium.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

In the 2 years since this thread began, I've actually been able to drive one of these 500L things, and it's not too shabby in all honesty. Obviously, now I know it's much bigger than the Panda, and they do the MPW version with 7 seats. They're obviously not the most PH worthy things in existence, but for it's intended purpose it's not too bad, it just looks a little on the awkward side.

The upcoming 500X I'm not so sure on, sure it'll sell quite well, these crossovers do now, but the styling probably won't be the best. I quite like the related Jeep Renegade though, I can't put my finger on why but I just do. Would have to be the Trailhawk version for me though.

I am a Fiat salesman these days, 90% of these things that are sold are Motability cars, I've only ever sold one to someone willing to part with their own money for it.

The new 500X SUV is going to be a huge success. Looks pretty good as well, the OH is already asking for one. I personally prefer the Jeep Renegade, but maybe one of each will be good.
