Surely they wont make modifying cars illegal? That's crazy.

Bloody hell, I posted this last night, didnt see any reply for an hour or so, went to bed and woke up to 7 pages of info.

If this happens it will definatley be a massive shame, as well as killing off a big industry.

Motorsport is one of the UK's biggest exports? Surely a lot of the companys that make these parts will loose a lot of business from this law passing which could mean doubtful futures for them?

And also there's the obvious fact that less jobs is EXACTLY what we need at the moment.. rolleyes

After now spending a fair bit of time reading from here/other sites i now understand it a hell of a lot better.

If it does happen (Which im 99% sure it wont go through as it is now) It wont kill off everything, but will have a very large impact on the culture and economy.

I'm still hoping we can spread the word and stop it completely, to me it seems pointless..

Modifying your car is just personalizing a belonging? Like decorating your house, or planting flowers in your garden, if it's doing no harm to others i dont understand the issue?

And i doubt insurance will go down, If this law passes they'll be more likely to raise insurance prices on anything that is fast/handles well from the factory, meaning eventually all us youngsters/new drivers will be stuck in stuff they want us to drive, not what we want to drive. frown

Also if it does pass what happens to the tens of thousands of already modified cars that wont pass the inspection/MOT? Do the owners have to buy standard parts and return it to standard? Then what do they do with the aftermarket parts? Because they sure as st wont be able to sell them on, Creating MASSIVE waste amounts of parts/many car owners massively out of pocket.
