Just thinking back to when I was a kid, for some strange reason I really, really wanted a 3 door Ford Maverick. I got the brochures from a Ford dealer, drew pictures of them, even worked out how many years it would take for me to save up and buy one(with pocket money??!)

Ironic really as I could probably pick one up for less than a grand now!

Any odd car desires you can remember from childhood or early motoring life that you laugh at now?!

(Naming genuinely great cars that you'd still have now doesn't count!)

Matra Rancho, looked really cool and offroad tough, but were in reality not that great. Still want a Citroen Mehari though....
Ahh yeah that used to be one of my favourite Matchbox cars!

I used to want a Ford Probe when they came out. I was about 10 at the time
Looks-wise that's quite a "10 year old friendly" car.

Are you saying that I'm forgiven?
Well, it has more logic than a 3 door Maverick. Plus pop-up lights of course!

I haven't been counting, but it seems the Ford Orion might be the most desired boring car!?

Are you lot all joyriders from the 80s?

Not quite so boring over here compared to the States, but one of my neighbours had a Chevy C/K or Silverado pick up. Used to think that was absolutely amazing.

Also whenever I used to draw cars I always put tri-spoke alloys on them. yuck
