Only about one in six speed cameras in England and Wales is digital

And the (biased) BBC drag rent a quote BRAKE out for their usual bks. I've asked the ABD to make a formal complaint against the BBC for bias.
Nick Batty, from the road safety group Brake, said the charity wanted more speed cameras to be transferred to digital but recognised that road safety partnerships had suffered budget cuts, reducing their ability to update their technology.
"Speed cameras are proven to be effective in reducing devastating crashes and casualties," he explained.

You probably don't 'speed.' Since the introduction of speed cameras, virtually all roads have had their speed limits lowered. This has made them artificialy low, i.e. below the 85th percentile value. This is the speed that 85% of drivers won't exceed if there was no speed limit, and has been shown to produce the optimum speed for any given road in regards to a 'safe' speed limit.
