Time For Tea? Maserati History 'Gran Tour'
OK, so it isn't a video, but this clever history lesson will take up most of your afternoon...
So that we’re not the only ones fending off cries of ‘Get back to work!’ from our bosses, we thought the only natural way forward was to share it with you. It’s a really rather neatly-done trip through Maserati’s history, starting with the Maserati family in the 1900s, and running through the development of the early pre-war models, the era of Fangio, the supercars of the 60s and 70s, through to the Biturbo and then the modern day.
It isn’t just about the cars, though; along the way there are absorbing niblets about other aspects of the Maserati story – influential people, important milestones and key world events that have had an influence on the history of the company. For any Maseristi worth his or her salt, it’s a superb way to fill the gaps in the history of a much-loved company, and for the rest of us, it’s a fascinating (and very engaging) way not just to learn more about Maserati, but also to drool over some of its most iconic cars. Not to mention the childish glee involved in seeing how fast you can get the timeline to scroll along, of course. Not that we’ve tried that or anything. Ahem.
