think p/h needs to get its info correct....

gt3 4.0 litre has the stroke increased not bore size surely!!!!
The original article when it was announced said it was bored out rather than stroked - a long-perpetuated error on PH it seems!
Oops, now corrected. My heart went cold when I saw the link to the original article because I'd had a chat with Preuninger on the launch about the lack of metal in the block for increased bore:

Preuninger said:
...admits the 3.8 RS's flat six is "not a tractor engine" but by increasing the stroke - there was literally not enough metal in the block for any increase in bore - with the same crank as used in the half million pound RSR race car they wrung out those final few hp and lb ft. New heads, cams and shorter, wider inlet tracts also play their part in the astonishing 125hp per litre specific output.
So the piece I wrote on it was right, it was Riggers who made that 'much perpetuated' initial cock-up. Not that I'm passing the buck or anything! Hopefully it stops here.

Cheers!

An easy mistake to make if rushing to get articles published these days.
Just chuckling that I still managed to successfully blame it on Riggers and he doesn't even work here any more!

I *knew* I'd had that chat with Preuninger too! Just needed to find the relevant quote.

Time to step back from the keyboard...
