Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me. I have just recently bought my first car (renault clio) and it came with alloy wheels already fitted but the cheapest insurance company told me that it has to factory fitted alloys which i DONT have, so i was wondering could i put the 182 standard alloys on from the renault clio sport or would that still count towards being modified alloys or would i have to buy the horrible standard ones for my renault clio for them to insure me? PLEASE HELP

thanks smile

Thanks for your help guys, iv been on every comparison site and put a quote with modified alloys and its just ridiculous price's coming up like £5000 but with standard alloys Its £1900! Not sure why insurance goes up that high for some alloys! But I'm just going to sell off my set and buy some of the standard alloys. Could anyone recommend sites or for some or is ebay or gumtree my best place to look?
Thanks again for your help smile

The cheapest quote I got was 1900 on ingenie witch is a insurance that fit a black box in to monitor my driving, one of my mates got his black box fitted a few weeks ago and told me the guy was talking to him about that once he went to someone's house to install the box into there car and he refused to fit it because the car did not have standard alloys fitted. So I am unsure that they would let me have non standard alloys at all!

There 17" alloys not sure what make or anything, there not close to the standard ones at all, I'm going to ring up later on today no harm in trying, I wouldn't want the risk of the insurance company not paying out just because I didn't have standard alloys. As I said ill ring up later on and see what they say

Then Mr bloggs would get fined as the insurance company can't fit the black box in his car because it is modified and would of wasted there time.
