Mixing Uniroyal Rainsport 2s and Rainsport 3s

So I'm going to need some new rubber, in the sizes 275/35/18 rear and 245/40/18 front. Uniroyal are the cheapest non-ditchfinders in these sizes, I was pleased with the RainExperts I had on a previous car and they seem to be a well respected brand. They don't make a Rainsport 3 for the rears so I'll have to get the Rainsport 2s. However, for the fronts the Rainsport 3s are £96 vs £151 for Rainsport 2s. So I was thinking of getting the 3s for the rear and 2s for the front. Obviously it's best practice to get the same all round but a premium of over £100 seems a lot of extra money I needn't spend, especially considering one is just (I believe) a newer version of the other. The car is a Jaguar S-type and isn't used for anything too strenuous, but I am a bit of a ride and handling geek! Thoughts?

Ok ok, I've run plenty of mismatched ditchys in my time, even on my "OMG-widowmaker-deathrap" MR2, without dying to death. In flames. But my point is, is it more the £100 "worse" in terms of how it'll make the car behave (e.g. due to differing responses, slip angles, etc)? Will the car feel much different to having the same (it'd have to be RS2s in that case) all round?
