Just a bit of Easter flippancy:

Having read many a thread in which a newly announced performance car is rubbished for being either too heavy, too expensive or - even worse - front wheel drive, I wondered if we could decide what the perfect new car for PH would be like. I'm thinking:

Naturally aspirated, and at least 6 cylinder, but with more torque than can generally be derived from an NA engine of that size

Rear wheel drive

No more than 1200kg

About £15000 Max

Any more criteria?

What would this be? A 3-Series brought forward through time from about 1990 is about the nearest I can think.

It would be a convertible coupe estate, with a rwd fwd 4x4 chassis, powered by an normally aspirated turbo diesel petrol engine with a 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12 cylinder inline V engine, driving through an 8spd automatic manual gearbox. It will be fitted with ABS/DSC, but those systems will be de-activated because of the driving gods who can actually out perform them on PH......... ;-)
...and it'll be ten grand new. hehe
