No wonder people opt for budget, even though it's potentially false economy, when mid range stuff can be £120 to £150 per corner... Had me looking at the cheapies as well. Maybe two premium on the back and two budgets up front is ok?

I just paid £139/corner (I think) for 245/40R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports online.

What sizes of tyre are you looking for where mid-range tyres exceed that?
That's nearly (235s) my size! How much for fitting on top of that? Then it comes out nearly 150 a corner, surely?

When 19" wheels started seeming like a sensible thing to have on a 4 banger diesel family saloon?
This.

My mondeo has had 18s since 2007... So quite a while. Just I never owned it back then hence the shock.
