A couple are on the programme right now after buying the lowest-spec Vauxhall Corsa. They've spent months complaining that there is a fault with the engine and that it's apparently "being starved of fuel". Now they've got Dom to investigate and realised that there is no fault with the car, only that the three cylinder engine is underpowered.

Only now, months later, are they reading reviews of the car and bothering to do any research on it, despite demanding a brand new replacement for their 'faulty' one since they bought it. What a pair of fking muppets, and how embarrassing it must be going on TV with a consumer problem, only to find out that the problem is your own ignorance and stupidity.

Short version: Pair of tts do absolutely no research on a car, buy it, complain for six months that the engine is borked, then realise they've bought a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder with 65PS. Now look stupid.

Yeah, it was very good of Vauxhall to swap the car even though there was no fault.

There was a "consumer case" in What Car a while back about some tard who had bought Freelander new and after a while had been "horrified" to discover rust on the driveshafts. LR eventually agreed to paint them as he was such a pillock. FFS.

Meanwhile, people with real problems can't get proper redress.
There was a similar one very recently where a bloke bought a new Audi and there was surface rust on the brake discs. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they replaced everything for him to stop him complaining.

The husband also said "I've had Vauxhalls my whole life" so they must've bought every car in the same way and just been lucky they didn't pick a slow one up until now. I'm still in disbelief at the ignorance shown.

rolleyes My girlfriend is actually starting an argument with me over this! She says they probably had better/ more important things to do with their time than look up the power of the engine in the car. Get a fking brochure, ask a salesman, or look on the iPad like they did in in the programme? Jesus, I can't believe some people will defend this kind of behaviour.

When I worked for FIAT head office we had a complaint from an Alfa owner. She complained that we didn't offer keys for left handed people, so when she pressed the button on the fob the key part jabbed the palm of her hand rolleyes
banghead Why was she opening the car using her left hand when she would have to put the key in her right hand to start the car anyway? I'm surprised she didn't complain the ignition was on the wrong side too.
