Hi,

I'm trying to buy a car to replace a 2006 Mondeo and I'm looking for a chart that shows the widths of the current range of cars. I wondered if anyone would know if such a think exists?

I'm just wondering because I live in Cambridge and the city is very old with narrow, parked up, roads and a *lot* of cyclists. I'd like to buy a narrow car because with all of the parked cars now being so wide it's getting harder and harder to fit a modern wide car up the road and still pass a cyclist coming the other way. I wondered if you might know if anyone had compiled this information?

This is what I have so far:

length width including mirrors
polo 2014 3970 mm 1901mm
audi a1 2014 3954 mm 1906mm
volks up 2014 3540 mm 1910mm
mondeo 2006 4731 mm 1958mm
Audi A3 2014 4237mm 1960mm
fiesta 2014 3950 mm 1978mm
focus 2014 4358 mm 2010mm
focus estate 4556 mm 2010mm
golf 2014 4255 mm 2027mm
new mondeo 2014 4,869mm 2092mm
Honda accord 2,110 mm

Thanks!

Here's an image of my table as the formatting didn't come out well.

Thanks for this thought. I had wondered actually. :-) Most of them came from http://carleasingmadesimple.com/

Thanks for all these great ideas. I hadn't realised there were any more posts and have just caught up on the thread. I totally agree about Cambridge being car-unfriendly. It must be very hard for those who do not live cycling distance from the centre, as the parking charges are astonishingly high.

Thanks for all the help!
