VW Scirocco - Any good?

Well the saga of trying to find the GF a new car continues....

She now doesn't think the Civic type R is for her (can't see herself in one) and has realised that she can't afford a 1/3 series coupe/vert - 6 cylinder for reliability but pushing running costs....

We've now moved onto the scirocco - 2008/9 with under 80k, manual and petrol (town driving and know the autos/1.4's are trouble). Anything to look out for - any resident used car salesmen have stock if they are generally problem free? - Blue/Black/Silver
