Harris has the M4 review.

No mention of having to pay.

99p a month.

I suspect that's a bit of a bargain. So low that I almost cant be arsed to faff about with the subscription.
£11.88 a year, or the price of a single cinema ticket.

Bargaintastic!

Youtube shows it as costing £2.49 a month here?
That was 99p a month earlier, that's changed since we posted!

I love how everyone expects everything for free.

It's not exactly a charity business and these people have to earn a living and cover their costs.
Without being condescending, you're obviously not aware of how YouTube works. There are many ways of sustaining income without charging for subscription. There are a lot of channels with much higher production values and more regular content that seem to have no trouble making stacks of cash.
Anyone that starts a conversation with "Without being condescending", is clearly deliberately trying to be condescending. rolleyes

However putting that aside, I'm very well aware of how YouTube works. However the costs of running a film crew, hiring expensive cars, pre and post production heavily outweigh any income you would get from YouTube.

The videography is excellent and I genuinely ask you to show me a channel that contains that number of videos of that quality, available for free.

Even if it is £2.99, it's still cheap and relatively good value.

Once again, they are a business and they need to make money somehow....or do you think it's all one big jolly?

Finally if you don't want to pay, as mentioned before, just wait for the season to end and pay for a month of great viewing. £2.99 becomes a bargain!
I'm with beanbag.

Pewdipie makes stacks of cash, but all he does is video himself being an idiot. Cost free, as he seems to be a natural idiot, and he's the biggest youtuber out there. Outside of the top 50 (which are mostly gaming) you'll struggle to find anyone making "stacks of cash", but I'd love some examples.

Making money on youtube while producing real content is very difficult, and this subscription model IS the future. I have no problem with £2.49/month if we're getting a good quality Harris video weekly, and a couple of other videos a month which are worth a watch.

Sadly, I fear like driver republic, they are still ahead of the game, and £2.49 is going to be too much for most people.

Have you seen Rooster Teeth? Cracked? Buzzfeed? All making high quality accessible videos. Maker studios and Discovery aren't rushing to charge subs either.

Ask Shmee if he needs to charge subs.

Corridor digital, HISHE, Cinema Sins, Mojo, happy hour, petrolicious, motor trend, all doing high quality content without subs.
Add Car Throttle, GT Channel, NetworkA and a few others to that too!!!

there is ALOT of good car content out there, subs isnt going to help /drive.
I think you're missing the point. Most of those listed have a good website behind them which make the money. I know a couple of the companies listed well and I can categorically state youtube isn't making them money, they either have VC funding, or another income source supporting the video.

Just because a company is putting videos on youtube, doesn't mean its currently profitable.

And as for Shmee, he's hardly putting out big production is he, and he has great numbers? Plus, it's fairly common knowledge the money for the McLaren didn't come via youtube.
