Got home from work today to find a logbook from DVLA for a car I have no knowledge of - a 2002 Kia Sedona Estate!!

Hopefully it's just an error. I've spoken with DVLA and I need to return the logbook to their 'Sensitive Case' team. I did buy a new car (and sell my old one) around the time that i 'acquired' this one. Strange thing is, the former registered keeper lives a few miles from me (whereas I bought my car from a dealership a few hundred miles away, so not a dealer registration error).

Anyone had this happen to them? Any chance this could be part of some kind of fraud?

Cheers

I knew it! I always thought that's how people end up with Kias. It has to be some unconscious act smile

Seriously though, anything in particular I should do? I'm sending a letter to DVLA tomorrow by recorded delivery and keeping a copy of the letter and logbook. Do I notify the police about a potential fraud, or wait to see if anything else happens?

Ain't she pretty!?

Spoke to the local police and there's nothing they're prepared to do about it at this stage. They wouldn't even make a record of the situation. Only thing they said was that my call was recorded so if there ever was any issue down the line, they could retrieve the call. I guess it's better than nothing.

Car fraudulently (potentially) registered in my name and it has to be a bloody Kia!! Could add an entry in the 'knob' thread too!
