Hello All,

Newbie here and I've been a long time lurker. I'm a VW man at heart and I currently drive a Corrado VR6. I'm now in the market for something a little more serious.

Long story short I do so little mileage nowadays, I don't rely on a car and I have no children etc. I can finally justify something a little more focussed and in-practicable. I don't want to go too extreme because I still enjoy my comforts and the car will still be used for daily duties every now and then. Ideally I want something which I can pop to the shops in or sit on the motorway for 6 hours, but then won't look out of place on the track or on a B-road blast. Saloon or practicable coupes like M3's or S4's etc don't interest me as my time for these type of cars will come (when I eventually have children or need something more professional sue to my work for example). It's not very often someone can justify something a little silly, so whilst I can...

I've narrowed my choices down to either a Alpina Roadster S, Porsche 968 Sport or 944 Turbo - as it stands. I am a sucker for older cars. Is there anything else I should consider for around the 10k (give or take) mark?

Thanks

Rich

Thanks for the Input guys smile

TVR's just don't do it for me. Unless it's a Sagaris, but that's well over my budget.

I've never owned a Jap car and it's an itch that I wan't to scratch, but every time I look at the classifieds nothing appeals. I've driven a few tasty MX5's and they are so much fun, they just don't feel special enough.

Boxters/caymans aren't for me either - Would much prefer a nice 944/968.

I was very tempted with a Z3M Coupe and went to look at a few. They are awesome cars whilst ticking all the right boxes. Maintenance and service costs put me off a little though.

Quite fancy a TT Quattro Sport 240 - As a sensible choice. Or an R32?
