I'm in the market for my second car. Priorities:

  • Pretty
  • Unusual
  • Nice place to sit when stuck in traffic
  • Sounds good
So here in Italy I have a relatively decent choice of Breras, an unusual car even here. A flawed car in many ways. A GT makes a lot more sense.

To hell with that.

So should I get the full fat V6 or the geeky 1.7 Turbo? The latter will drink less, definitely a plus point, and cost less to tax. Insurance will be the same and maintenance on a turbo is probably just as costly as the V6's pointless AWD. The 1.7 supposedly rides and turns in better, but lets not kid ourselves; both cars will be more than a little uncomfortable on these extensively potholed cobblestone roads. This 'aint Monza.

The V6 is surely gonna sound better.

Choices I've narrowed it down to:

The Tan leather is simply irresistable, but so is the panorama roof on the other one...

Unfortunately it was UK exclusive (and limited to 500 units). I've had a look on Pistonheads out of curisosity; it isn't cheap.

It has the lovely leather dash but no sunroof...

Oh wow look at this.

Definitely above my purchase budget, and it's gonna suck up every last penny I have to own.

Erm... help me out lads... try to talk me out of it

V6.

The GM V6 doesnt 'sing' out of the box, but that can be changed.
What's the best complete system which sounds great and still looks somewhat standard? Seen a few exhausts which stick out too much and look naff.

I've considered everything from the red with tan (but no panorama roof) V6 to the red with black (boo!) but panorama roof 1.7 turbo and even an SZ as a risky investement opportunity.

The SZ is folly. No can do frown

I've also looked at the 147 GTA which is lovely and has that V6 but which won't get me noticed enough around here (yes yes yes I know, but I'm a young male trying to make an impression and it's important to me); 147s are utterly everywhere.

The important thing is, it has to have a black headliner.

I think I'll bite the bullet on the panoramic roof and get the V6. I've come full circle. Does anyboy know of a decent exhaust for it?

PS this is my second car as in the second car I've ever owned; it will be my only car.

OH MY.

...where should I start looking for one of these in Italy? What's the price point do you think; at least in the UK?

Funny thing is, I might actually like the standard sound when I finally drive it- I've always liked deeper if quieter exhausts. I've been looking at my long-time dream C43 as well; found a decent one, perfect for respraying some lairy look-at-me colour (McLaren Volcano Orange? AMG Solar Beam?) but somehow the Brera just has me by the balls now.

It simply looks too damn good, inside & out.

Great looking cars but cramped inside. If you only want one as a 2 seater I say black metallic paint with tan leather. And it must be a V6 with sports car back.
Red is more attention grabbing biggrin

I'd love a Yellow one even more but non of the interiors go well except black: booooooring.
