E36, E39 or E46 for £1500??
Discussion
Looking to get a fun car for evenings and weekends. Fancy a bmw as I've not had one before. Doesn't need to be the top engine although the more power the better of course!
It won't do lots of miles but I'm concerned about buying something that's going to cost me loads to maintain and take the fun out of having a second car. I want to be able to get in on a Sunday and go for a nice drive out into the countryside.
What would you buy?

Thanks for the replies chaps.
Fun for me is anything with a decent engine that I haven't had before (or in some cases that I have had before). It's just a car to be used for anything and everything at the weekend that isn't what I drive on a daily basis.
I won't be taking it on track and I won't be pushing it to its limits on the road. I enjoy driving around in different cars for a laugh.
I know there are better handling cars in my budget but I just fancy a BMW and wanted to know which one is least likely to be a money-pit at this price point.
