Golf GTD ordered!
Discussion
Just completed the order for a new golf GTD yesterday cant wait!! Cracking deal £249.99 on a personal lease 6 payments down followed by 23 it is the best deal I can find. Has anyone seen a cheaper deal? if so let me know as the order isnt being confirmed with the dealer till monday! Every penny counts!
Is that including VAT? I'll be intrigued to see other replies as that sounds pretty good. What kind of mileage per annum, maintained ?
If I was in the market it seems that leasing is almost a no brainer if new/nearly new is what you want.
That said Golf R's were less I think at one point, crazy!

So we don't have to many posts on the general gassing part of the forum and would be better suited for people of your bent to hear about it.

Congratulations on the choice of car - I've had mine 12 weeks now. It's not as sharp or entertaining as the GTI it replaced, but the overall package is better. I love the balance of performance to economy, it's just right for me.
Oh, and I'm paying £273 per month, but that's on a 3+23 format. Slightly cheaper over the 2 years, but not much in it.

Glad your enjoying it cant wait! Price is really good value for money, I think like you its a good balance MPG and performance. Counting the days!Oh, and I'm paying £273 per month, but that's on a 3+23 format. Slightly cheaper over the 2 years, but not much in it.
My missus got hers on Friday last week as a company car with unlimited personal use for 3 years and will be paying the grand total of £75/month for it the jammy swine.
I drove it on Saturday and I have to say I'm really impressed, plenty of torque and power under your foot when you need it and still the ability to get 50mpg.
I never 'got' Golf's but I think I do now!

Just had delivery confirmed end of August / September, asked for it to be delivered for September so I can have new registration! I drove it on Saturday and I have to say I'm really impressed, plenty of torque and power under your foot when you need it and still the ability to get 50mpg.

A diesel Golf for 10k a year? Ok then.....
For only 10k a year I'd go with the GTI, cheaper, faster, quicker and I work it out to be all of ~£200/year more than the GTD. Probably in the really real world likely to be about equal...andrewparker said:

The GTI is cheaper to lease. Plugging those numbers in I make it....£489 per year (~£40/month) to have the GTI over the GTD. Bit of a no brainer really, GTI all the way.
Where can you find the GTI available for less than £250 per month? The best I can find is around £350...How much have you seen the GTI for with comparable terms? I looked on LeasePlanGo and it was £330 inc VAT on a 6+23.
Either way, would have been more appropriate to congratulate the poster on his car choice rather than tell him he chose the wrong car, and if you can't do that don't bother commenting at all. As someone who has owned Golfs (and mainly GTIs) for over 15 years I think the GTD is a fine car, as far as Golfs go. I certainly have no nagging regrets getting one.

It was said with some confidence, but I think it was rather misplaced. The GTI is an expensive car to lease, it's not cheaper than a GTD.No complaint about the choice of car, I've had plenty of Golfs in my time. However, they all came with the correct engine (well, apart from the 8v GTI, that was terrible), which was my query about the OP's purchase. Even at 600 quid extra a year for the GTi, 50 quid a month not to drive a diesel? Bargain imo.
