Best route for getting from the North to Brixton/Herne Hill?
Discussion
My GF is off to London (Brixton/Herne Hill) tomorrow to meet her mate and is wanting to know the best route. Googlemaps is saying to go along Edgware Road, Park Lane and the Vauxhall Bridge.
She's hoping to arrive around 4:30pm.
Is this likely to be stupidly busy at said time and if so, is there a better way to get there?

Thanks for the replies and apologies. North as in "Derbyshire North".
She's actually picking up her friend (after having tea with her) from said place in London, and is then progressing to France with friend, so public transport isn't an option as that is what we would usually do.
She doesn't mind paying the congestion charge if it means she misses traffic.

Would just like to say thanks for all the replies, especially dacouch's!
Dacouch - She phoned to tell me that she followed your directions, which true to your word, meant she missed loads of traffic and got there on time, so thankyou very much!
p.s. she said it was a lovely view from Vauxhall Bridge!
