15K for a 3rd car - interesting and good residuals
Discussion
As the title says really...
Ideas?
MPG or reliability not necessarily important (this car won't do many miles) but residuals very important as it would likely be sold in 18-24 months to fund a house move.
Currently got a V6 Clio (255) as our 3rd car - it is brilliant and I love it to bits but I have "ticked the box" and am in half a mind to change to something that is bigger and with at least four seats. I was thinking about M3/M5s or a Monaro/VXR8 but think they aren't quite as unique as the Clio and might not be as stable financially or as easy to sell on when the time comes.
Early stages yet but after ideas.

Good suggestion with the DB7.
I did initially type a detailed post but deleted it as I didn't want to lose readers in my waffle. I "should" have added that we have two boys (one is 5 and the other is 1) so space for a baby seat is a must if I am going to change and opt for four seats.
I tried a DB7 a few years back when I was selling my RS6. The baby seat couldn't fit in it so I opted for the 911 - I was young and a bit daft. Had no kids and an RS6 then had a kid and bought a 911.

C63 AMGs are still out of budget for what I want to spend but I was looking at them before.
Good call on the Maserati.
I like the Caterhams but I sold my Westfield (Cosworth Turbo) to get into a tin-top toy. If changing I would ideally want something I could use on a daily basis if need be.

Recent developments - I am re-prioritising and it leaves me with two options...
1) Sell the Vee (buyer already lined up - didn't even have to advertise) and don't bother replacing. I would use the money towards the aforementioned house move and be sensible; after all, the Clio is a 3rd car... We already have a Fiesta ST (new one with Mountune) and a 911 Turbo which I have always tried to keep the miles down on and save it for nice family drives out and occasions etc. This idea would mean that the wife and I would start using the 911 as more of a daily. In terms of maintenance, I already have a bit of a slush fund for the car and would stick some of the V6 sale money aside for what would mean extra wear and tear. Advisable for 18 months? I wouldn't cover huge miles.
2) Due to circumstances, budget now down to 10K. The second idea is therefor to sell the V6 and still buy the third car, saving my beloved 911 for best and keeping it as a bit of a garage queen. Ideas I have so far for this price are a Monaro (wife hates the looks but I like them) or an E46 M3. The Monaro appeals for rarity but the BMW "package" appeals. I'm just worried that the Beemer might be a dog that has been abused and ill-cared for at this price and could mean the potential for big bills. That aside, given my V6 has not depreciated and more or less sold before even being listed, it also worries me that there are a lot of M3s on the market and resale could be hard. That aside, prices appeat to be all over the show (£4K to well over £20K) and it worries me. Can anyone advise and/or reassure me? Wife likes the idea of an R32 Golf or a Focus RS (used to have one) but worried many have been abused. Any other decent ideas? I used to have an RS6 4.2 V8. Running costs were astonomical but they seem to have steadied on terms of price. If (a big if?) I could get one of them wit all the DRC sorted and brakes/tyres etc. that might be one idea. Tell me I am stupid and to go with option one by all means!!!
Thanks
