online tax disc purchase crashed

good innit. End of the month, need new tax as obviously do zillions of other folks, the www.taxdisc.service.gov.uk keeps crashing / hanging. Can't buy tax.

What gets me is if you sell you car after the 1st October you automatically get the full valid months refunded, then the buyer of the vehicle has to tax it from the start of the month again.

It just doesn't work like that. If they spent a massive amount of money renting extra server and database capacity to cope with all the month-end last minuters then they'd get flak for wasting money as well. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...Krikkit said:

If they hadn't signed stupid supply contracts, renting extra capacity short term wouldn't be expensive.roecommercials said:
