The mechanic I use, to be fair to him, is really good.

Well priced, knowldegable, really flexible and so on. Its kind of a 'backstreet garage' with just 2 staff.

The last few times I have broken down though I have really been buggered by lack of a courtesy car.

My mechanic does have a dodgy old courtesy car available but its not a sure thing (and it stinks inside).

Therefore I am thinking of finding a backup garage which has a better avilability of courtesy cars available.

I am guessing though that said garages will probably charge a bit more.

I wonder how others find using courtesy cars. Do you only use a garage that offers one? Does it normally cost more?

Do garages promise courtesy cars but never actually have them?

Bit of an open ended quetsion i know but grateful for any experiences or input.

BTW I am not talking main dealer garages here!

Your mechanic is really good but your car keeps breaking down?? Hmmm.

Wouldn't a more reliable car or a more effective mechanic be the better solution?
