Want a discreet hot hatch with plenty of power that sounds nice, just had a astra vxr nurburgring and it was not the best car I have ever had.

There's all the leg room/ space you'd ever need in the front. The rears are a little tight but honestly how often do you use them for adults? They suit me fine for my use tbh.
It feels FAR more special than an ST will/can ever feel. The ST may be faster when remapped but there is no way it would be able to match the drive thanks to the 130s rear wheel drive.

The 130i really is a cracking hot hatch that often gets over looked, which is strange when it's probably the fastest of it's era (2005 launch date, possibly bar the R32).

Obviously I'm a tad... biased. But after having this same dilemma 1 year ago I'm glad I chose the 130. The fuel consumption is slightly worse than I'd have liked though. Average 29mpg on a 70 mile round commute of which 80% is motorway at 70mph. sticking to 60 gets high 30's if your in no rush.

Whats your budget OP ?
Budget is around 10k

Yeah the looks of the 130i are not the best. facelift st in black or grey looks decent.

As I've been wanting an ST recently but thinking I should try a NA hot hatch before they die out, buying a 130 never occurred to me. Was thinking about 330s though. I would definitely rather have a BMW than a Civic type R or Renaultsport Clio.

What's the Step Auto like in a 130i?

The auto won't be no where near as fun! I had a 330d remapped that was auto and got bored of it, the only auto Id recommend is dsg transmission

Does the 130i have a heavy clutch?
