Tell me I should - Discovery V8

Having just sold the Boxster S and contemplating selling the S2k I have a real itch for a Discovery V8. Nothing expensive, say £3-4k on an MY02, 03 or 04. May even consider older if cheaper.

Should I?

MPG isn't a concern. Having a tow bar is and I'd like it to be an auto (another itch I have). Looking at specs the GS with leather etc appeals.

Thing is, there seems to be some terrible examples out there or am I missing the point?
