I've had a 2003 Focus 1.8 TDCi for the last 11 years, hasn't put a foot wrong in 123,000 miles.
Also consider the 130bhp Seat Ibiza TDi from the same era, a genuinely quick little hatch.

Fiat multijet suffers egr valve coke ups, not that unusual in any tdi, but the lack of low grunt when it happens is a pain. Grande Punto is a bit wishy washy in the corners and feels a lot bigger than it is which doesn't inspire confidence the Sporting version may be better round the corners but I doubt it's that much better feeling, just harder and slightly wider tyres. Looking at focus's, there are a few titaniums out there for £2500 or lower, only keeping it for a year so doesn't matter if has around 100K miles especially as it is a dieselGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
