I have recently been diagnosed as terminally ill, prognos is 6/18 months, at this time I am still reasonably fit and well.
I currently own a 2013 520d luxury touring,I would like to sell this and get something a bit more exotic, not outrageous, without owning it, I can easily pay 650pm but remember the term could be very short, is there a scheme that would be suitable for my situation, preferably without a ruinous financial penalty when I inevitably expire before the end of the "term"?
All suggestions welcome.

It's very unlikely that you're going to get finance, given your life expectancy. Your best bet is to buy something that your executors can easily re-sell. It'll probably cost less overall, too.

Flogging the 5 should release a decent sum.

How are you planning on paying the £650pcm? I'm guessing you won't be working until your final breath...?
Money is not really a problem but I was trying to avoid paying out a large sum to buy, them leaving my wife at the mercy of bandits when selling!!!!,I know that is rather a contradiction when I say money is not really a problem, but old habits die hard.

Not meaning to pry, but will your condition affect your ability to drive or get insurance?

I'd go for a Ferrari 360, or a mad Cobra replica, or a GTR.
I don't think so, I have mesothelioma??

I am very grateful for all the advice and kind thoughts, it is really appreciated, my situation is wierd for the want of a better word,to be told I may only have 6 months left but at the moment I have no symptoms and can operate as normal, it is just that I am not able to plan anything long term and have had to sell my beloved boat that I have kept and used in France for the last 5 years as this could have been a real headache for my wife to sort out.

Hi OP, sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

I can't really help with your car query but I'm an Industrial Disease solicitor (albeit a Scottish one) and I act for a lot of clients in similar situations.

If you need any advice/details about support groups, DWP stuff or English sols, please drop me a PM.
Thanks have sent you apm look

Buy something really unusual such as a an Aston Martin Estate or a Lynx, big demand when it is no longer required, and adding a bit of lightness it could reduce the cost of hiring a big black slow moving estate like vehicle, at a later date.
All the best.
Ha Ha. I like your thinking.
