Not so much 'champagne car/ lemonade money', more cars that the layperson would view as exotic or perhaps even as a 'supercar' for sub £15K.

This could consist of anything from a wild looking kit car, to something from a premium brand manufacturer that has depreciated into affordable territory.

Preferably something that other PHers would see on the road and think 'must take a look at the classifieds' when I get home. Bonus points for stuff that is actually very good.

I'll start off with a rather obvious answer- 996 911:

996 has been discussed enough for us all to know its potential pitfalls, less-than-stellar reputation and used values. but I suspect 90-odd% of the general public would think it a rather fancy sports car. I've pictured a cabrio here, ofcourse I personally would have a hardtop with a manual box, thanks.

Things like this are also within range with a bit of a haggle:

But it's from Motorhub and will therefore be made mostly of string and lies.

Let's have 'em...

Are VX220s that cheap?
Way cheaper. This is a big part of the appeal- 'it must've cost you an arm and a leg?!'.

It's not the whole point though- a nice blingy RR will have the same effect, but would never be considered 'exotic'. It certainly won't thrill you in the same way either.

Joe Public sees a VX220 and thinks your in some kind of mini supercar, and that's more appealing to me.

Some great stuff so far, keep them coming...
