Bloodhound SSC Comms Test: Time For Tea?
Tuesday 27th January 2015
Later this year Bloodhound SSC will aim to beat the 763mph land speed record set by Thrust SSC, ahead of a 1,000mph attempt in 2016. Exciting times.

Out to South Africa for testing as the countdown to 1,000mph continues
This isn't a top speed run, or even practice. Sorry. It's a look at the communications side of Bloodhound SSC, the work that goes into ensuring messages between Andy Green in the car and the rest of the team are perfect. That means flying planes and driving cars very fast across the Hakskeen Pan, and obviously filming it in slow motion. Looks great.
News on the Bloodhound project had gone a little quite recently so it's great to see the team edging closer to what could be an incredible record. We eagerly await further progress!

I cant help but think Bloodhound is being set up for a massive fall. Its been YEARS in the planning and massive concepts and marketing (Ive been going to Goodwood FoS for years and Im fed up of seeing them now).
I just hope it all goes to plan or the press will be full of 'FAILURE OF BRITISH ENGINEERING' etc etc....
This really makes me angry.I just hope it all goes to plan or the press will be full of 'FAILURE OF BRITISH ENGINEERING' etc etc....
I can assure you everybody here is pushing as hard as possible to make this happen this year, currently we are on target for pushing for an 800mph record this year. I terms of car build it's been about 2 years, previous to that it's all about making sure the car is safe.
What engineering experience do you base your thoughts on us failing on, do you know much about any of the team? Do you have years of engineering experience behind you, have you been involved in any projects even remotely like this?

I wonder if Mini 360 will be bored of it when it's parked on lord Marches front lawn outside the house having taken the land speed record?
It may appear that I'm being defensive, yes I am, every team member works bloody hard, giving 100% all of the time. as for nervousness, it would be foolish not to be nervous as that would indicate complacency, at these speeds there is no room for complacency.
