£100K Garage: Ross Arnold

RS6, R32, Type R and much more in Ross's fantasy garage

Name: Ross Arnold
Previously owned: Renault 5 (shared with my Mum), Citroen Saxo 1.0 and VTR, VW Golf VR6, Audi S3
Currently owned: Renault Clio 182
On the shortlist: "I'm always on the lookout for another car to tick off the bucket list before the need to get something sensible ruins the fun! Currently looking for an E46 M3, hopefully one with a manual gearbox. Always wanted an Audi RS estate too... big power and plenty of space!

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Targa (964)
Cost:
£36,999
Balance: £63,001
Why I chose it: "I have always been a fan of the older 911s and this one looks very clean. Some people don't like the Targa model but I think it adds to the rarity appeal! It would be the perfect car to enjoy in the summer without needing a full on drop-top. The 964 is for me the last of the classic shape 911s before they became slightly bloated. The high mileage didn't put me off because of the extensive service record this one has."

Is the 964 your favourite air-cooled 911 too? See cars for sale here.

Audi RS6 Avant Plus
Cost:
£19,995
Balance: £43,006
Why I chose it: "Having grown up seeing various Audis come and go I have always been a fan of the RS6.There's something about the older shape Avants that I prefer to the new and, I think, less aggressive looking models. The Plus version with the bright blue paint and dark grey alloys adds to the dramatic effect of the widened arches and big twin pipes. The perfect car for a long trip - fill the boot with luggage and cruise along at speed in comfort."

Audi does fast estates like no other company. RS6s on PH here.

Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R
Cost:
£13,995
Balance: £29,011
Why I chose it: "Being one of the Gran Turismo generation I need an R32 Skyline in my collection. The gunmetal grey paintwork looks immaculate and I can only see these cars appreciating over time. The fact that this car looks factory original adds to the appeal. No need for big wings and ill-fitting body kits here!"

Can they stay this cheap for long? See here for R32s on PH.

BMW E30 M3
Cost: £24,995
Balance: £4,016
Why I chose it: "Another car I grew up wanting. The original M3 may not have the power of modern hot hatches but none of them can come close in terms of character. A great car to take out and enjoy the B-roads at the weekend. And without doubt a car that is only going to appreciate if you give it the attention it deserves."

Looks cheap as E30 M3s go! All original M3s on PH this way.

Honda Civic Type R
Cost:
£3,995
Balance: £21
Why I chose it: "The daily runaround! I've always been tempted by Type Rs but ended up going a different way. The VTEC has enough power to make the trips to the shops entertaining but at the same time won't empty your wallet when it comes to a trip to the petrol station. The silver paint isn't as shouty as the red you see so many Type Rs in so perhaps I'll be to catch a few people by surprise at the lights!"
