Do GM make anything that stands out in any particular area?

Some car makers/brands are fast, others stylish, others handle well, others are dull but work for ever, some are dirt cheap and others have all the latest gadgets and gizmos, but Vauxhall/GM seem to have no stand out qualities.

Over to the panel.

General Motors owns many different brands which cater variously to buyers seeking value, performance, tech, luxury. Not sure what you mean by "stand out cars", but some GM products are highly regarded by buyers and the motoring press.

They're no different to VAG in many ways - a diverse portfolio of brands, mostly white goods cars, some rated more highly than others.
So why would you buy a Corsa, Astra or Insignia over any of their competitors? What areas do those 3 products stand out in?

While it might not be everyone's cup of tea this thread is ste.
Yeah lots of cars are better lots of cars worse. Big company GM make lots of cars for lots of people. New ZX6 corvette shows a new 911 gt3 a trick of two according to latest evo mag. Ampera won a few awards and in more recent driver power survey vauxhall came better placed than audi,vw,bmw and licked ford. Most successful touring car team, sponsor of national football team.
So why would you buy an Astra over a Focus, Golf, Auris, Cee'd etc?

Question for you - why have you decided to create an argumentative post about one particular brand?
GM is or was basically bankrupt and Vauxhall is GM brand in the UK. They seem to sell a lot to fleet buyers, so why would I as a private buyer go for a Vauxhall over their competitors? If I want a good steer, I'd get a Ford, if I wanted a reliable car something from the far east would be the way forward. German cars tend to lead the technical innovations. Kia/Hyundia offer long warranties, Dacia are dirt cheap, so where does Vauxhall fit in?

There are what car? threads on here about 3 times per week and nobody ever says buy a Vauxhall, so why is this is what I'm getting at?

Is it marketing, is it the products? I bought my Jazz this time last year, because I wanted a small, practical reliable car and never gave a Corsa a second thought, what have I missed out on? What are all the people that bought Golfs missing that an Astra offers?

On any company car thread, everyone wants a German car because they are a bit aspirational, once in a while people will say a Mondeo is acutally a better car than a 3 Series, but nobody ever says they should get an Insignia in that sector.

It's not Vauxhall/GM bashing on my part, I'm just interested where they fit in, because it seems to me they are in no mans land in a land where we are spoiled for choice.
