With my wife trying not to be bored beside me, plus friend comfortable in the back, we met up with 2 blue 'stangs and tootled down to Byfleet.

What was your verdict then?
Personally, inside is very nice! Nice toggle switches, some hint of Ford remaining, but some good upgrades. Great engine, on looks I like it from a front angle, door to the back but the actual front itself looks out of proportion. The front very front is too phat. My S197, I love the looks of and the front end tapers, on the new one it seems to get phatter as it goes from the door to the front bumper and to me it looks weird. I also don't like the angle of the back itself.

Definitely loving the looks of the S550 over the outgoing Mustang, certainly not a fan of the S197. Was this a proper event they were putting on, went on Bill Shepherds site on Saturday and didn't see any details otherwise I would have come down just to see the new one in the flesh.
For me it is the other way round. I LOVE the S197, not a fan of the S550 at all. front end looks too out of proportion to the rest and looks too Hyundai coupe ish. Of course the S197 has a typical yank handling and interior, poor standard brakes but has awesome presence and sound and the V8 is great...and pretty damn quick. However, true Mustang lovers do not buy it for its handling and luxury!
