For all the normal non company director goatee-wearers who through extreme poverty are forced to paying for their motoring on a monthly basis via a loan, HP or (God forbid) lease type deal, how much do you pay per month, and what's the car?

And do you think this is more or less than the 'average'?

You'd be surprised how many top end cars (think Ferrari and top level Porsches) are paid by monthly payments and balloon figures
I don't think I'd be surprised at all, I'm guessing that the vast majority of new-ish cars are paid for with monthly payments of some kind.

Just to add, I wasn't really all that bothered about insurance, maintenance and fuel costs - rather just how much do we pay per month for the car itself, rather than actually running it.

Pretty difficult to have one without the other.
Not if you don't run your car, its not. The point is, I was interested in finding out how much we spent on a month to month basis 'buying' (or renting) our cars mainly because it occurred to me that my impression of what was a reasonable sum (@£250) must be outdated.
