As a lorry driver , doing 100000 miles a year , I see all sorts of magical drivers on the nations roads. Examples. Those that run the hard shoulder with the hazard lights on when motorway traffic is stationary . Or them that drop too 20/30 mph on the hard shoulder to take a call . Whilst on the subject of motorways , what is a motorway slip road for ? Correct , for joining a motorway , but it also , a length of road to get your speed up on . Enabling you to join the traffic flow safely , note if lane 1 & 2 are occupied , what are you hoping to achieve by barging across on faster moving traffic ?
A roads , soon the law is changing . But at present I'm governed to 40mph in a national speed limit single carriageway , such as the a17 . The scene of today's master class , I can always tell when it's Grand Prix weekend . So I'm doing my 40 , nice relaxing drive , but I'm being stalked by an Astra who insists on presenting himself on the white line and in my mirror . So you get a nice long straight plenty room to safely overtake , does he fancy it ? No , he waits for the bend or a little bit of traffic , before he hits his full on senna mode . Note , putting the other driver in the position where he gives way or crash s only really works on a track ... He's off anyway , in 5th , tip: take a gear or plant the right foot , why on earth are you hanging about . Go go go .
Reference foreign lorry s , I drive in Europe so I speak with experiance , why do you car drivers insist on hanging around in a lorry s blind spot , BLIND SPOT, some times no matter how we try , that car is invisible . Is it any wonder there is so many side swipes on the roads. You see a lorry being driven tentatively , is he lost , is something wrong . Why don't you just give it a little time to sort himself out. Are you really that desperate to get past ?
Roundabouts . A lot of roundabouts in this country are poorly designed or unsuitable for the size of vehicles that often need to use them . Why do so many car drivers seem to think a roundabout is there to provide them the opertunity to overtake ? Look at the shape of an artic , at some point it's going to cut in and you being the stig's love child are going to be doing your racing line stuff, it ll make an awful mess out of your max power fibre glass body kit , think on !
What I'm trying to say is try to be abit more courteous and drive safe
