whats up everyone

My 2002 E39 has an issue with the automatic gearbox. Long story short

When I first bought it, it was fine. Decided to reset the gearbox = big mistake

Started changing harsher, juddering in 4th and 5th gear after 55 mph (wanting to change down but it couldn't without force on the pedal)

Got a bit of slippage too. Now the issue is I was on the m11 and it wouldent go into 5th gear and come up with the message "trans safe". Got to the lights and it was slipping all over the place with barely any go, managed to get it back to my friends house tho.

Got the car recovered back home and put my computer on it: DTC 37 Gear monitoring 5

There is no drive at all now . What do I do and where to go from here?

Do you mean you tried to reset the adaptations?
This should in no way cause the problems you are experiencing if it was done correctly using the right software.
Assuming you haven't damaged the gearbox ECU I would try disconnecting the battery for half an hour which does the same as a reset and go from there.
I did it using the internet way. holding down the accelerator etc

Just an update. Disconnected the battery for 5 hours. Started the car & it drove like there never was a problem

Turned the car around but had to reverse a bit because I was over the line @ the junction. popped it in drive & nothing happened. completely dead like the box didn't exist

Had to get a push from another driver luckily my house was on that road
cars been sent off to a gearbox specialist in Essex now.

I thought if the box had died it wouldn't work again?

Strangee
