Hi there Guys,

Im currently looking around the market for an Audi Q7. I was originally looking at a RRS However after seeing the list of problems they have ive swayed towards the Q7.

What are the common sort of problems? Best engine? MPG figures etc like?

Look forward to any Reply's

Thanks

Best engine? V12 wink

I have pre-facelift 3.0 TDi as family car and I must say it's been a very reliable car and withstood abuse well.

Brakes and tyres are expensive consumables. Mines is only the SE model and the 19" tyres normally last around 12k miles max. Discs needed changing after 20k miles.
MPG wise I've never ever had higher than 38mpg and that's with A/C off. I've heard the newer facelifted models with better transmission (7 speed) would achieve higher mpg. Mix of urban and motorway I get around 25mpg.
Nice, Yes id be looking towards the 3.0Tdi, Id love a White S-line pre-face lift with the Led conversion but most people are looking for an arm and a leg for one.

The tyres and brakes are a biggie ive noticed. most people say its because they handle much more like a car than a 2 tone offroader so people tend to drive them like a car. The Audi dealer also mentioned about the newer 7 speed boxes but he never had one to take me out for a test run. I couldn't fork out for a new one anyway smile

I fancied a Q7 and bought a RRS

Probs with the Q7 when I did my googling were tyres and brakes

My RRS is showing 50k miles

It had pads at 35 ish, it's discs are still good and tyres last 30k or so as well

Touch wood it's cost me nothing further and is the best car I've ever had by far

Best of luck
yeah dont get me wrong iv read there is a couple off RRS that dont have any of the common problems but the ratio of fails is slightly less on the Q7.

Lets not forget that generally people with cars use forums for when they have problems. its rare that someone would start a thread to tell everyone how well there car is doing smile
