I'm looking for a car which can do my commute of 12 miles each way, carry my mountain bike (preferably on a tow bar rack or inside the car) and be fun. what are my options? under £12k
Thanks

2 seats will be fine but surely getting a bike on or in an mx5 is a hastle

Octavia vRS estate.

That's what I'm leasing (a mk3 version) and will collect it tomorrow biggrin

There are loads of mk2's available for good money now. Not as fun as an MX-5 but cheap to run and huge inside. I'm hoping the road bike will go in mine with all the wheels on and the seats lowered. at the worst, just the front wheel off.

Thanks for the suggestion Steve. However i would prefer a hatchback over an estate as i don't need that much space.

I've changed my mind about having the bike inside the car as using a bike rack opens up more options. So what car would you recommend for a 12 mile commute each way and an hours drive for mountain biking once a week I don't carry passengers so 2 seats is ok. I don't want anything bigger than a 3 series but a hatchback makes more sense than a saloon. I guess it's between a hatchback of some sort or a sports car.
Much appreciated

EDIT: also I'd like to add the hours mountain bike drive will mainly be motorway with some a road.
