Sandero Renaultsport coming!

YouTube teaser previews a fast version of Britain's cheapest car. Bring it on!

'There's something new coming up. Get ready!' At present, that's all the information available on the Sandero RS. It's the video description of Renaultsport's latest YouTube upload, which means after a fair bit of speculation it can be confirmed that a Renault Sandero Renaultsport will happen. Superb news!

Humble origins to say the least!

The 'Renault' part of that name is the first point of note. The embed video title describes the car as a 'surprise for Latin America'; the Sandero is sold as a Renault in markets including Brazil and so it would appear only for those markets. Performance isn't exactly Dacia's USP in the countries where it is available either. Let's wait and see but it doesn't look good for a quick Sandero in Europe.

A mechanical spec is still to be announced at this stage too but there's little harm in speculating, right? Hopefully as a low budget hot hatch a fancy pants small turbo and dual-clutch auto can be ditched for a big old NA lump and a manual. We can but hope, right?

Anyway, the Sandero RS is something we'll have to keep tabs on given there's little released so far. Will it make a debut at Frankfurt? Or perhaps even sooner? All input welcomed now!
