... to a couple of coppers.

I think the police were stretching the issue somewhat, but it's amusing to see the "I'm going to police the roads" headcam/dashcam-mentality come up against the police hehe

I know, I know, "not this sh*t again" etc.

Do you even read what you're quoting?

Looks like Melville Dr in Edinburgh and I'm sure that has a timed bus lane.

I wonder what time it was?
Looks like you're right.

Streetview-sleuthing suggests it's 7.30-9.30am and 4-6.30pm.

Yes. These semi-regular cycling threads usually go the same way, and what I quoted were examples of the sort of thing you always see. And that goes for my own comment too, which is why I included it.

I probably should have left it at just the one comment, if that, but - well, this is the internet.
So what in IroningMan's posted link involved a cyclist?

Also, this ultimately is not a thread about a cyclist; it is about the irony of a vigilante having a pop at the police.

Seriously though, we can't make a judgement either way without knowing the time of the video.

If it was during bus lane operational times, (0730-0930 and 1600-1830 iirc) fair enough for noising up the police.

If it was outside the times, then the cyclist is a tt.
Is it fair enough, though? I see a lot of crap driving on my travels (and people probably see my crap driving too, I sincerely doubt I get everything right, no matter what I think at the time) - I don't "noise them up" for bad indicating, hogging the middle lane, being in the wrong lane at a roundabout, swerving through traffic. I just sigh, shake my head, make sure I'm out of their way and let them get on with it.

Sometimes I see police cars getting it a bit wrong (indicating coming off roundabouts, or not as the case may be, MLH etc.) - I don't beep at them and scream "I've got you on camera!" (partly because I don't have a camera). My point being, there are a lot of honest mistakes and a lot of not-so-honest, downright crap driving and instigating a confrontation is not the best course of action for dealing with it. Drive/pedal on with your life.

Police who?

Police don't drive in the bus lane.
