Promoted content: Audi RS3 'born restless' part 5

New Audi-sponsored vid sees the RS3 venture off road again. A long way off road...

Now this is extreme! From Hindhead to Denmark for the latest Audi RS3 vid, where the road literally runs into the sea. Like the very best Scandinavian dramas, there are barren landscapes, sleepy villages and fierce coastal settings too.

Put that together with a 'Speedboat' video title and it's easy to see how there's water splash galore, slippery sand oversteer and a, er, speedboat. Sort of. The RS3 appears to cope fairly well with its aquatic adventure, even if we wouldn't directly recommend it for your new £40K hot hatch.

This is the final part of the series from Audi. Hope you enjoy the video, the previous installments are available below.

Unique among its predominantly four-cylinder rivals the RS3's 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine is a proper stand-out feature. Thankfully it doesn't need any help from the speaker system to make its presence felt either, that distinctive bassy tone a constant reminder of Audi's rallying heritage and the era of the Quattro. Nor do you have to be going at silly speeds to enjoy it either, the RS3's character accessible whether flat out on track as we were previously or just pottering about at road speeds. Obviously a tunnel just helps exaggerate that and the mile and a bit length of the one beneath the Devil's Punchbowl outside Hindhead seemed the perfect venue to make some five-cylinder music.

Enjoy and scroll down below for previous videos in the Audi sponsored 'Born Restless' RS3 series.

As you will be aware Audi is so excited about its new RS3 it's enlisted PH to promote a series of six videos, the third of which is now live and can be seen here. In it Audi designer Stephan Fahr-Becker explains what inspired the exterior look, how it communicates Quattro tradition and the engineering under the skin and how the cars he's owned have influenced his work. Suffice to say, our man is a proper car nut and anyone who runs a Clio V6 as a daily driver is alright in our book!

See the exclusive interview here and catch up on the previous two videos below. Stay tuned for further instalments!

Eyebrows were raised on the RS3 launch when Audi promised the car would do sideways excitement as well as Quattro four-wheel driven stability. And then they stopped anyone from switching the ESP off to find out of this was true. No matter – there were no such restrictions in place when we decided to put the RS3 on track at Anglesey Circuit and see if it really could live up to the claim of “steering without understeering”. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results!

See below for the first instalment in our series of promoted RS3 videos.

Promoted: Audi RS3 Born Restless, Part 2

This is the first of three videos produced by Audi itself - there will be six in total, and we've been given free rein and a fair slice of Audi's marketing budget to do something spectacular for our three. We hope you like the results!
