Obviously if you're fully comp then they'll pay out for this. I would get a quote before phoning them though as it might be cheaper in the long run to just pay out of your own pocket depending how big your excess is.
To be fair, I think I am just worried that insurance would not cover for my own damage (my own stupidity). The excess isn't too bad and no claims are protected. - Car is brand new, literally a week old.

What time frame do you have to report to insurance within? This I am assuming is a more straight forward claim than say crashing someone else's car as I will just admit fault directly over the phone.

Please dont make the mistake of 'just letting them know but not claiming'. The amount of people that do that then come back on here whining is more than it should be.

Suggest you visit a body shop and sort it yourself
Thank you, will go tomorrow. Do you know the timeframe to make a claim, as it happened yesterday, don't want it to be within 24 hours only. - Will only be able to go to the body shop tomorrow you see.

AS already suggested your premiums could go up even if the NCB is protected, then you still have the excess to pay anyway.

Minor damage in a car park might not be worth involving insurance with a claim as I suspect they will be the winners.

Two new panels, possibly three if the sill is damaged, plus inspection time, a respray in notoriously-hard-to-match silver, plus QC, plus paperwork. The BS will need the car for a week, so you'll have to hire a replacement, plus deposit, plus Excess Protection. The bill will be two grand. Just phone your insurers, that's what they're there for.
Thank you, doesn't seem as simple as expected. Insurance it is then... hope they don't take the mick with the claim, should be straight forward, my fault to admit straight the way on the phone and good to go?
